Message from the new Wing Commander

Good morning

Firstly, I would like to thank Wg Cdr David Cox for his 16 years as OC Wg and 50 years commitment to the organisation. The units under his stewardship (2146 and 2152) and the Wg had a number of successes thanks to his leadership. Having long held the ambition to be OC Wg, I hope I will be a good one!

Secondly, I would like to thank every one of you for your commitment, resilience and patience. The organisation has seen many changes in recent years (not all entirely for the best in my opinion) but we have adapted and persevered for the benefit of our cadets and their experience.  I hope for your support as we move into a new era.

Finally, I will endeavour to lead the Wing to future successes but without your trust and support that will be extremely difficult. To that end I will be setting up some drop in sessions over the next couple of months where you can come and share your worries/concerns (or achievements and successes!). I hope you will take the opportunity to do this so I can develop accurate plans for our future.  You will also notice some development opportunities being advertised – I will advertise all Wing Staff roles to increase transparency. If you have any questions, please ask.

Keep safe in this weather and I look forward to working with you all in my new capacity as OC Wg.

Regards

Catherine
